TIES THAT BIND -
EAVE Europe/Asia Co-Production Forum:
Call for Applications!


For the first time in 2009, EAVE and the UDINE FAR EAST FILM FESTIVAL will organize a joint forum for Asian and European producers with the support of the FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA AUDIOVISUAL REGIONAL FUND: TIES THAT BIND will take place in Udine, Italy, from April 26-28, 2009 within the frame of the festival.

The workshop will enable feature film producers from both continents to work and network together in a three-days forum and will offer the participants an insight into the financing sources and structures of both continents, the marketing/sales and distribution practices in Europe and Asia as well as the legal frameworks.

The schedule will consist of sessions on script development, presentations of co-productions markets and funds, an analysis of the trends and perspectives in European and Asian cinema and a case study of a recent European-Asian co-production.

In addition, there will be plenty of occasions for the 16 selected producers from all over Europe and Asia to discuss and network together.

Confirmed experts are among others: Youngjoo Suh (CEO, Finecut), Marco Müller (Director of the Venice Film Festival), Masa Sawada (Producer, Comme des Cinemas), Roberto Olla (Executive Director of Eurimages), Clare Downs (Script Consultant),...

Target group:
Experienced and successful feature film producers in their own countries wishing to work on an international scale and to create long term creative and business relationships between Europe and Asia.

Conditions:
Travel*, accommodation, lunches and conference facilities will be covered for all participants.
The contribution for participation per participant is 200 EUR to be paid before the workshop.
* The organization will cover up to 1.000 EUR for Asian participants and 300 EUR for European participants.

The working language of the workshop will be English.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: March 27, 2009.

In case of selection, participants are supposed to arrive in Udine on April 25 and stay until April 29. A total of 4 nights will be covered.
