Working with a worldwide network of partners we are involved in programmes for producers in Europe, Russia, Latin America, the Arab world, Asia and Africa.

Founded in 1988, our objectives are to provide professional training opportunities and to bring producers from different regions of the world together with the aim of facilitating co-production relationships. We believe that the support of independent voices, creative imagination and culturally driven companies within the global media industries is an urgent necessity in the 21st century.
We are proud that in the last few years, almost 40 % of the projects at EAVE have been developed and even more of the networking effect of EAVE: more than 50% of all EAVE graduates are producing within the EAVE network after having met at EAVE.

For almost all EAVE graduates, EAVE has been a valuable and positive experience which enabled them to push their careers even further, resulted in many co-productions and enhanced their knowledge on the European film industry. The contacts formed during the EAVE training proved to be extremely fruitful and have contributed to building up a strong network among EAVE graduates and decision makers.

A new film-marketing agency is born today in Europe and EAVE members have a special 20% discount!

The new company based in Spain is a promotion solution created for producers, sales agents and distributors across the world. It offers a specialized portfolio of services in order to provide strategic planning since early stages of development and accompany the whole process with solidness and originality until the distribution of the film.

Understanding the needs of producers, The Film Agency offers consultancy services such as MD: Marketing doctor (marketing strategy in development stage), PMD: Producers’ Marketing & Distribution (promotion materials and releases during shooting) and RA: Raising Awareness (b2b tools for sales agents and producers). *

The agency director is Sarah Calderón, EAVE’S marketing expert. Sarah has a master degree in International Marketing at the Celsa-Sorbonne in Paris and an extensive experience in the international film distribution sector. Formerly head of the film department at Patofeo Films in Bogotá, Head of Sales at Philippe Bober’s Coproduction Office in Paris, Distribution Coordinator at Karma Films in Madrid and current consultant for the Media Programme and several Media Desks, Sarah has been able to get an insight of the independent industry from several angles understanding key aspects of film distribution.

Moreover the agency counts on a core team of advisors (among them Daniel Bajo, David Carrizales, Gaëlle Fillion, David Grumbach and Adrien Moisson) and a select number of partners who work on the campaigns on an outsourcing basis according to each project. This allows the agency to get adapted to all projects and budget sizes. The main current partners are: Binalogue, Nutone, Noobware and Sauvez la Reine.

The Film Agency believes it can help the film industry face new challenges. Currently many independent films get to have an extremely narrow distribution, often concentrated in highly cinephile sectors. Stronger and high-reach marketing tools could help to improve these results. Several factors in today’s world are clear opportunities for the film business. We believe that the advent of new media and online tools, the new elements in the consumption behavior (such as the VoD platforms), the branded content possibilities and the strong international networks are some of these new opportunities.

*All services (see details at www.thefilmagency.eu) are provided in consultancy mode and in executive mode. EAVE members discount = 20% until the 31st of December 2012.

Call for Applications - Film Finance Forum 2012

Deadline for applications: March 2, 2012

EAVE Film Finance Forum 2012 takes place during April 19-22 in Luxembourg. It is an intensive four day workshop for European and international professionals on European film finance.

The EAVE Film Finance Forum provides an exploration and update of the latest financial developments and funding sources in Europe. It includes sessions on public and private finance, co-production, tax incentives, the sales and distribution market, banking services and new industry trends. Since most films produced in Europe are made with low to medium budgets, the Finance Forum will focus on its participants' real financial situation and provide them with solutions adapted to their needs and projects.

How does it work?

The workshop takes the form of an inclusive round table with presentations on various up-to-date topics followed by open discussion with the participants and leading industry experts from the finance and film businesses. In order to achieve a maximum level of interactivity the total number of participants is limited. This enables an approach focused on a small group and the specific needs of each participant as well as facilitating networking between participants and experts.

Leading European experts

The Film Finance Forum's team is composed of leading experts (subject to change). The 2011 edition included: Christian Kmiotek (Head of Studies, Film Finance Forum & CFO, Samsa Film), Christophe Bruncher(Les Films de la Butte), Carl Clifton (K5 International), Maud Leclair (BNP Paribas), Joëlle Levie (OLFFI), Stefan Rüll (Rüll Law Office) and Bernhard Stampfer (BS Media Finance Advisory).

Who can apply?

The Film Finance Forum is targeted to producers and associated film industry professionals, members of the financial and legal communities, policy makers, and consultants. It is also open to non-EU applicants, thanks to the support of MEDIA Mundus.

The selection of the candidates is based on the application file submitted by each applicant according to the form provided. EAVE evaluates the quality of the candidate's company, his/her and the company's track record and the level of professional background of the candidate(s). Priority is given to applicants working within independent and/or small and medium sized companies.

Further information

For further information about applying, participation fees, scholarships and more, please visit www.eave.org or contact EAVE workshop manager Satu Elo: satu@eave.org
