EAVE 2008 project 82 DAYS IN APRIL

(Serendipity Films, B), has just received production support from the
VAF (Flemish Audiovisual Fund). Furthermore, two other projects
produced by Ellen de Waele were supported: Documentary SLOT by Manno
Lanssens received production support and script support was granted to
documentary BOYAMBA BELGIQUE by Dries Engels and Bart Van Peel.

Feature film and EAVE 2007 project TONY TEN is one of the 3 selected
projects for the Telescoop, an annual collaboration between the Public
Broadcasting Corporation, the CoBO-foundation and the Dutch Film
Foundation to make Dutch quality films possible for a broad audience.
The script of the family film was written by Mieke de Jong and the
director is Mischa Kamp. Producer is EAVE 2007 graduate Marleen Slot.
The film is expected to be released in the Dutch cinemas and late 2010.

Moldavian filmmaker Igor Cobileanski is in early development with his
first feature based on a script written by Corneliu Porumboiu and
himself. EAVE 2009 project FLYING LESSONS aka BROKEN RIB, which
Porumboiu began at the Cannes Cinéfondation Residence, is a bittersweet
drama about a 25-year-old small-time drug dealer from a forgotten
little town in the contemporary Republic of Moldavia. The film is
produced by Saga Film (producer: EAVE 2009 participant Alex Teodorescu,
co-producer: EAVE 2006 graduate Dan Burlac). It received support from
the Romanian National Centre for Cinema. The shooting is scheduled for
autumn 2010. The estimated budget is 1,200,000. The project that is
being developed at EAVE 2009 participates at the Moscow co-production
forum.

Belgian director Christophe Van Rompaey (MOSCOW, BELGIUM) has unveiled
plans for his second feature, BLUE BIRDS, produced by EAVE 2009
participant Kristoff Leue (Sancta Media, B). Principal photography is
scheduled to start in spring 2010, with a theatrical release set for
late 2010. BLUE BIRDS is an urban tale about love and obsession in
contemporary Beijing. The film is the first feature in a series of
four, entitled TRUE STORY. It is a unique Belgian-Chinese co-production
between Sancta Media and Xstream Pictures. The film received support
for development by the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF).

CZ) has received the support from The State Fund Of the Czech
Republic For Cinematography ( amount of
10.000.000 CZK, approx. 385.000 EUR). The shooting is
scheduled September and October 2009.

EAVE 2007 project SILENCE IS GOLDEN, produced by EAVE 2007 graduate Ewa
Pytka (Python Studioss LTD, PL) is shooting since June 12.
The Romanian project OUTSKIRTS by Cristian Mungiu and Ioana Uricaru,
produced by Saga Film (producer: EAVE 2009 participant Alex Teodorescu,
delegate producer: EAVE 2006 graduate Dan Burlac), written by Bogdan
Apetrei after an idea by Cristian Mungiu, will start shooting at the
end of this month.

Grand Pictures are finishing shooting a new 6 x half hour comedy series
VAL FALVEY, T.D., directed by PJ Dillon and starring Ardal O'Hanlon and
Owen Roe. Five weeks of filming on various locations in Kildare and
Meath is due to wrap on 5 June. The series is produced by EAVE 1995
graduate Paul Donovan with EAVE 1991 graduate Breda Walsh as line
producer. VAL FALVEY T.D. is scheduled for broadcast on Sunday nights
during RTE One s autumn 2009 schedule.

In Marseille, French/Belgian co-production L AUTRE MONDE, the second
feature by screenwriter-turned-director Gilles Marchand, has started
shooting this June. Produced by Haut et Court and co-produced by
Belgium s Versus Production (EAVE 2000 graduate Jacques-Henri
Bronckart), L AUTRE MONDE has a budget of around 5m. This includes
co-production support from France 2 Cinéma and RTBF, pre-sales from
Canal + and Ciné Cinéma, as well as backing from the Paca region, ING,
PIL and Inver Invest tax shelters and Sofica Coficup and Soficinéma.
Shooting will wrap up in Marseille on July 23 and the film is expected
to be released in April 2010. Haut et Court will handle theatrical
distribution in France and FTD will launch the French video edition,
while Memento Film International are managing international sales.

Romanian filmmaker Alexandru Solomon is shooting a new long
documentary, KAPITALISM OUR SECRET RECIPE, a humorous approach on
Romanian capitalism, 20 years after the fall of communism. The film is
produced by EAVE 2007 graduate and Romanian National Coordinator Ada
Solomon. The shooting started at the beginning of May and will end
early of August. The film is produced by HiFilm, together with Seppia
and received a 92,500 grant from the National Centre for Cinema. The
film is also financed with 80,000 from ARTE France, French
CNC, Alsace Film Commision, and Pre-Media workshop, HBO Romania, Zenith
Media and Romanian National Television are also supporting the project.

Shooting on QUARTIER LOINTAIN by Sam Garbarski has started Luxembourg
late May. The story is a reinterpretation of a cult manga series by
Japanese author Jiro Taniguchi. The film is produced by EAVE 1994
graduate and group leader Diana Elbaum (Entre Chien et Loup) in
co-production with Luxembourg s Samsa (EAVE 1992 graduate and president
Jani Thiltges), Germany s Pallas and France s Archipel 35. Wild Bunch
is managing international sales and French distribution, while
Dreamtouch, an offshoot of Entre Chien et Loup, is expected to handle
distribution in Benelux. Shooting on the 9m film will wrap up in
mid-July. Theatrical release is expected in February 2010.

Film Studio Gatteo (EAVE 2007 graduate David Synek) and are shooting
their debut as a film producer, after working for three years on Juraj
Herz's psychological thriller T.M.A. Gatteo (is financing the 1 million
Euro film through a Czech film grant of 300,000 Euros, and Slovak
co-producer Arina. The film was picked up for Czech distribution by
Warner Bros. Czech Republic. The film will premiere during the Karlovy
Vary film festival.

Shooting of medieval thriller BLACK DEATH by UK director Christopher
Smith in Saxony-Anhalt was completed early June. The film stars Sean
Bean, alongside Dutch actress Carice van Houten and UK actors Eddie
Redmayne and Andy Nyman. BLACK DEATH is co-produced by EAVE 1995
graduate Jens Meurer (Egoli Tossell Film, D) and in the UK by Phil
Robertson (Zephyr Films) and Robert Bernstein (Ecosse Films). The title
will be released on German screens in 2010.

SENSATION, written and directed by Tom Hall, is in currently shooting
until the end of June in Newtownmountkennedy, Co Wicklow. The Tony
award nominee Domhnall Gleeson stars as a horny young farmer in Tom
Hall s second feature. The film is an Irish-Dutch co-production with
finance from the Irish Film Board, the Rotterdam Film Fund, Screen
Scene and Section 481. It is Blinder Films' second feature this year
following ONE HUNDRED MORNINGS and is being produced by Irish EAVE 2005
graduate Katie Holly and Kieron J. Walsh (Raw, When Brendan Met Trudy).

Niemi s next feature film PRINCE OF TRASH, which will be co-produced by
EAVE 2004 graduate Markku Flink in partnership with EAVE 2004 graduate
Lars Løge.
MISS BLUE JEANS will be the first feature film of director Matti
Kinnunen. The film is co-produced by Outi Rousu and EAVE 1997 graduate
Brian Willis.
Children s film MIINA S SUMMER will be Hanna Maylett s second feature
film. The film is co-produced by EAVE 2006 graduate Anna-Kaisa Sukura.

EAVE 2008 project WHITE WHITE WORLD by Oleg
Novkovic (Serbia), producers: EAVE 2008 graduate Uliks Fehmiu, EAVE
2008 graduate Guido Schwab, EAVE 2003 graduate and Swedish National
Coordinator Helena Danielsson has just completed shooting and will
shortly start editing. The rough cut is supposed to be ready for
November.
EAVE 2005 project THREE SEASONS IN HELL by Tomas Masin (CZ) is
currently in postproduction. The film is produced by Prague-based
Dawson Productions (Monika Kristova), with Trigon Productions of
Slovakia and Babelsberg Film of Germany serving as co-producers. The
film is supported by Ceska televize, UPP, Soundsquare, MEDIA,
Eurimages, the Slovak Ministry of Culture and the State Fund for
Support and Development of Czech Cinematography. Falcon will distribute
the film in the Czech Republic, Capitol in Slovakia, with a release in
late October 2009.

EAVE 2006 project URVILLE, produced by EAVE 2006 graduate Patrick
Merkle (Flying Moon Filmproduction, D) has finished shooting and is
currently in editing. The completion is scheduled for late summer 2009.

EAVE 2008 graduate Jozko Rutar (Staragara, SI) has wrapped shooting in
May for his feature CIRCUS FANTASTICUS, co-produced by EAVE 2008
graduate Morgan Bushe (Fastnet Films, IRL). Both producers met at EAVE
in 2008.

Romanian director Cristi Puiu has shot his third feature, AURORA, a
crime story with the director playing the lead role himself. AURORA is
a co-production from Romanian company Mandragora Films, Swiss company
Bord Cadre Films (EAVE 2007 graduate Dan Wechsler), the French Société
Parisienne de Production and the German company Essential
Filmproduktion. The project has received the biggest grant from the
National Centre for Cinema, 421,850 Euro. It received 250,000 Euro from
Eurimages, and is also supported by Arte France Cinema. The budget is
1.5 million Euro. The shooting was completed mid-May. The release of
the film is set for 2010.

EAVE 2005 graduate Andrey Deryabin (Herminate Bridge Studio, RU) has
just finished the full-length feature film THE LAST STATION, a
historical drama about Leo Tolstoy's struggle to balance fame and
wealth with his commitment to a life devoid of material things during
the last year of the great writer s life. The film was directed by
American film-director Michael Hoffman and main roles were performed by
Helen Mirren, Christopher Plummer, James McAvoy, and Paul Giamatti.
Hermitage Bridge Studio and producer Andrey Deryabin worked at this
project as the main production partner in the territory of Russia and
the Russian co-producer was the Andrey Konchalovsky Foundation. Among
the other co-producers was EAVE 1995 graduate Jens Meurer (Egoli
Tossel, D).
Paz Fábrega s debut feature, AGUA FRIA DE MAR is now completed. The
film was granted the Torino Film Lab Production Award, Ibermedia
& Fondation Groupama-Gan Grant in addition to support from
Arte/Cofinova 4, Hubert Bals Plus & Cinergia. The shooting took
place on the South-Pacific coast of Costa Rica in February and March.
The post-production took place from April to mid-June in Europe. The
film is a coproduction between France (Les Films du Requin, EAVE 2007
graduate Jean des Forêts), Spain (Tic Tac Producciones, EAVE 2008
graduate Fernanda Del Nido), Costa Rica (Temporal Films), Holland
(Isabella films) & Mexico (Pimienta

in Turkey is now completed. The film is produced by EAVE 1997 graduate
