EAVE announces new Chief Executive

EAVE is proud to start the New Year with the appointment of Kristina Trapp to the position of Chief Executive of EAVE – European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs. Kristina Trapp joined EAVE as Programme Manager in 2004 and became Deputy Chief Executive in 2007.

Kristina Trapp has worked in the film industry in Germany, France, Belgium and Luxembourg since 1999 – amongst others with the German regional film fund MFG-Filmförderung Baden-Württemberg, as free-lance producer for ARTE, heading the Film Commission Strasbourg and with the European training programme Atelier Ludwigsburg/Paris.

Following her appointment she praised the work of former CEO Alan Fountain who will continue working with EAVE as Head of Studies and who successfully initiated a variety of new EAVE programmes and important partnerships with the industry in the last years. She also commented on the importance of EAVE as a network of crucial importance to the European independent production sector: "I am delighted to continue contributing to EAVE’s activities, both on a European and an international level. Through our work we want to contribute towards the creation of strong networks of producers and to encourage the exchange of knowledge and skills in order to strengthen independent production across the world.”

EAVE is one of the leading training, development and networking organisations for audiovisual producers in Europe. Since its creation in 1988, EAVE has built up a unique pan-European network of some 1.000 graduates from thirty countries and more than 200 experts from the European audiovisual industry. In addition to EAVE’s flagship programme, the European Producers Workshop that has been running successfully for over 20 years, EAVE is involved in programmes for producers in Europe, Russia, Latin America, the Arab world, Asia and Africa.

The 2010 training programme will start with the European Producers Workshop in Luxembourg (March 15-22) with workshop 1 gathering around 50 producers from 29 European countries. Workshop 2 will take place in Seefeld/Tirol, Austria (June 29 - July 7) and the final workshop will be held in Belgrade, Serbia, in October 2010.

Apart from the European Producers Workshop, EAVE runs a number of other programmes such as the Film Finance Forum (April 15-18, 2010), the Film Marketing Workshop (December 2010), Puentes – EAVE Europe/Latin America Producers Workshop (W1 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from April 8-11 and W2 in Spain in fall), Ties That Bind – EAVE Asia/Europe Producers Workshop (W1 in Udine, Italy, from April 25-28 and W2 in Pusan, South Korea, in October), Interchange – TFL/DIFF/EAVE Development & Co-production Workshops for professionals from the Middle East and Europe (W1 in Torino, Italy, in April and W2 in Dubai in December), as well as other tailor made professional development programmes.
